Korean Air’s inflight Wi-Fi started switching to Starlink, for free, on September 15.

When I flew a Korean Air A350 in July 2025, Wi-Fi was paid: $4.95 for messaging, $5.95 for internet (that flight review).
So this is welcome news. It just is not on every aircraft yet.

Which aircraft have it

Based on Korean Air’s September 11 announcement (in Korean):

Item Details
Start September 15, 2026
Aircraft Three modified A350-900s and one 777-300ER
Price Free in every cabin on those aircraft
Routes Mainly medium and long haul to the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia, plus some short haul
Not allowed Internet voice and video calls, live streaming
Rollout Most of the fleet by the end of 2027

At launch it is just four aircraft.
So “it’s an A350, it’ll have Starlink” does not work. Most aircraft of the same type have not been modified yet.
(The aircraft photos below are type references, not Starlink-equipped planes.)

Korean Air says most of its fleet will have Starlink by the end of 2027 (One Mile at a Time).
Until then, the same route can have it one day and not the next.

If you plan to work on a laptop or message someone before landing, have a backup.
Anything that really needs a connection is best finished before you board.

The aircraft type on your booking does not tell you whether that particular plane has Starlink.
Check the airline’s information and follow the crew’s instructions on board.

Before you fly

Prepare Why
Save your e-ticket and hotel address So you can see them offline
Download documents and shows Your plane may not have Wi-Fi
Tell people when you will be reachable So you do not promise replies mid-flight

Free in economy, but no calls

The best part is that economy is free too.
But internet access does not mean calls or video meetings.
Think messages and email, and plan calls for the ground.

I have not tested it on a specific flight yet. I will post a review when I do.
