Thai Airways is starting twice-daily Bangkok–Da Nang flights on December 1.
It is not a new nonstop from Korea. It is useful if you want to combine Bangkok and Da Nang in one trip.
Timetable
As listed in THAI’s official notice. All times local.
| Flight | Route | Departs | Arrives | Days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TG558 | Bangkok → Da Nang | 08:00 | 09:45 | Daily |
| TG594 | Bangkok → Da Nang | 16:15 | 18:00 | Daily |
| TG559 | Da Nang → Bangkok | 10:45 | 12:40 | Daily |
| TG595 | Da Nang → Bangkok | 19:00 | 20:55 | Daily |
One catch.
Some reports from mid-September, and Da Nang’s official tourism site, list the afternoon flights five minutes later:
TG594 16:20→18:05, TG595 19:05→21:00.
It is only five minutes, but if you are timing a connection or pickup, go by what your booking shows.
This is also a comeback rather than a first.
According to AeroRoutes, THAI last flew to Da Nang in March 2003, and the new service is planned with A320s.
Planning Bangkok + Da Nang
If you are spending a few days in Bangkok first, morning versus afternoon makes a real difference.
- Morning (08:00): almost a full day in Da Nang, but a very early start from your Bangkok hotel.
- Afternoon (16:15): a relaxed morning, but by the time you clear immigration in Da Nang the day is done.
Going the other way, the evening flight lands in Bangkok around 9pm.
Check late check-in at your hotel and how you will get into town.
Starting from Korea
If Da Nang is the only stop, there is little reason to go via Bangkok.
There are plenty of nonstops from Korea, and a cheaper connection can end up costing more once you add waiting time or a hotel night.
If Bangkok is part of the trip, what to check depends on how you book.
| How you book | Check before paying |
|---|---|
| Stay in Bangkok, then fly to Da Nang | Hotel departure time, airport (BKK), check-in cutoff |
| Korea–Bangkok–Da Nang on one ticket | Total connection time, whether bags go through |
| Separate tickets | What happens if a delay makes you miss the next flight, re-checking bags |
| Da Nang → Bangkok → Korea | Arrival day in Bangkok vs. departure day home, overnight wait or hotel |
Even on the same airline, separate tickets may not come with the same connection protection or through-checked bags.
Ask the airline about your own itinerary.
Still unconfirmed
The official page I checked is THAI’s Myanmar site.
It mentions booking on the website or app and a 72-hour advance purchase rule, but I could not confirm the same applies to fares sold in Korea.
If you are paying in Korea, check the change and refund rules, baggage and ticketing deadline.
The notice gives no publication date, end date or aircraft type. The A320 above comes from AeroRoutes.
